Irem

Irem is a company that is well known in the shmup community. They are the creators of the R-Type games as well as several other shmups. They along with Konami would constitute the heavy hitters of the early shmup genre. As of R-Type Final they claimed they would stop the series, but the release of R-Type Command raises some doubt on this.
