The Rayxanber series tells of the struggle between Earth and the heavily organic Zoul Empire. These games were created by Data West and were released on the FM-Towns and PC Engine CD systems.
The main gimmick of these games is how the player uses their weapons. When a weapon appears, it is facing a certain direction. Once the weapon is acquired, the weapon will fire in that direction. Therefore, the player must strategically choose not only what weapon but in what direction it should face for maximum efficiency.
